In The client is always right \u2013 stories from our voice-overs <\/i>you get a glimpse into the life of a voice over (and maybe even your own). This time with our German voice over Jonathan<\/a>. Are you reading along?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introduce yourself quickly; who are you and what do you do?<\/h2>\n

My name is Jonathan Enns, I am a freelancer and voice over actor living near Cologne. Sometimes I also work as an author, for example for children’s books. But mainly I record web videos and audio books.<\/p>\n

How did you become a voice over actor?<\/h2>\n

As a child I participated in a lot of theatre and during that time I also had my first experiences in a recording studio. At some point I realised that some people earn money behind the microphone. That’s why I started working as a voice over actor.<\/p>\n

What do you love about your job?<\/h2>\n

I am very enthusiastic about languages. I like the sound of words and I like to play with them, especially on an acoustic level. In the same way, I like to inspire my listeners with a text. Whether on stage or behind the microphone, I enjoy both.<\/p>\n

If you weren’t a voice actor, what would you like to do then? And why?<\/h2>\n

I would love to work as an actor. I find the world of theatre very fascinating. It’s great how stories can be told very impressively with simple means.<\/p>\n

Why did you choose to be a part of Voicebooking? And what do you like about Voicebooking?<\/h2>\n

Voicebooking convinced me right from the start with its professional and friendly manner. The interaction is very respectful and I always get good support. Most jobs run very routinely because the workflow is well worked out. And if there are any questions or problems, they can always be solved very quickly.<\/p>\n

What project did you like the most\/are you most proud of, and why?<\/h2>\n

I made two web videos for the city of Hamburg about nature conservation projects. I like the videos very much because they have the character of a documentary and are pleasant to watch. They make you want to go out into nature and enjoy the surroundings.<\/p>\n

What was the most crazy voice over job you have had? Which job was the most fun to do?<\/h2>\n

Some time ago I made a video about waterbeds for cows. The video itself is not very spectacular, but the fact that there are waterbeds for cows always makes people laugh when I tell them about it.<\/p>\n

Every craftsman\/woman has their own special set of talents. What makes you the voice actor that you are?<\/h2>\n

I think my big strength is the positive feel-good projects. I have always liked to make people laugh or smile. I like to spread good vibes without overdoing it.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give your younger voice actor-self?<\/h2>\n

I would advise myself to seek professional support much earlier. I have made many mistakes that I could have avoided, both with my voice and in my business.<\/p>\n
