Geldt dat ook voor storytelling? Vroeger werd lang al snel gezien als beter. Tegenwoordig voert kort de boventoon. In mijn nieuwe video kijk ik naar de verschillen. Dit aan de hand van het kortste verhaal ooit, geschreven door de legendarische schrijver en nobelprijswinnaar voor de literatuur Ernest Hemingway. Zijn kortste verhaal ooit? Een van de beroemdste schrijvers ooit was Ernest Hemingway. Weet je hoe lang zijn kortste verhaal duurde? Drie seconden. Hier staat het: \u2018For sale: Baby shoes, never worn.\u2019 Hemingway had dit verhaal natuurlijk ook kunnen vertellen in 50,000 woorden. Met interessante personages, plotwendigen, intriges enz. Zal dat een mooier verhaal zijn geweest? Natuurlijk! Maar zo\u2019n verhaal in zes woorden te vertellen is meer een \u2018snack size\u2019 verhaal.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u2018Snack size\u2019, is dat niet de essentie van hoe we tegenwoordig op social media verhalen vertellen? Stel je maakt een uitleg video, je hebt 15 seconden awareness fase. En in die 15 seconden wil je er dus voor waken dat je luisteraars niet weglopen. Dus, je moet dus niet te veel uitwijden en aan de andere kant ook weer niet te snel van stof zijn. Hoe vertel je dat? Niet in een lange zin. Als Hemingway gezegd zal hebben: \u2018Er zijn baby schoentjes te kopen die nooit gedragen zijn\u2019. Hemingway schreef als het ware drie mini hoofdstukjes en drukte die stuk voor stuk in het hoofd van het lezer: \u2018Er is iets te koop: Baby schoentjes. Nooit gedragen.\u2019<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Dat is drama. Zo simpel kan een verhaal verteld worden. Zet de feitjes op een rij, zet ze in een logische volgorde en laat het antwoord aan de luisteraar over,die eigenlijk alleen nog maar kan denken: \u2018Vertel eens wat meer hierover.\u2019 Win je er een literatuurprijs mee? Nee, maar gelukkig gaat het daar bij video marketing niet over.
