Zelden hoor ik iemand over YouTube. Zonde.<\/p>\n<p>Want YouTube biedt mogelijkheden die qua targeting, kosten en branding een waardevolle toevoeging kunnen zijn aan je marketingstrategie. In dit blog vertel ik je waarom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Drie honderd uur aan video uploads, duizenden per uur, tienduizenden per dag&#8230; je kent <a href=\"https:\/\/fortunelords.com\/youtube-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">het standaard riedeltje<\/a> wel dat wordt verteld over YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Tel daarbij op de scheepsladingen aan kattenvideo\u2019s en make-up tutorials waar iedereen het over heeft. En dan nog het commentaar over die pre-roll commercials die je constant aan het skippen bent.<\/p>\n<p>Mij schrikte vooral die laatste af. Tot we er dieper indoken.<\/p>\n<h2>Size doesn\u2019t matter<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Hoe groot een adverteerder ook is, maakt eigenlijk niet veel uit. Waar je als B2C A-merk het volume opzoekt, kan je als kleiner merk juist extreem targeten en daarmee de kattenfilmpjes ontwijken.<\/p>\n<p>Je kan filteren op demografie, interesses, eerdere interacties, plaatsingen, onderwerpen en zoekwoorden. En al die filters zijn ook nog eens te combineren.<\/p>\n<p>Eigenlijk, moet je alleen groot genoeg zijn om een filmpje te kunnen maken.<\/p>\n<p>Dus zelfs het nieuwe Yoga centrum bij jou om de hoek kan zich op deze manier in de picture werken bij haar buurtbewoners. Een online boekhoudsysteem kan zich targeten op het MKB of diegenen die net op zoek zijn naar een nieuw boekhoudprogramma.<\/p>\n<p>En mocht je een start-up zijn met een product voor kitesurfers, dan kan je met juiste targeting regelrecht voor video\u2019s gaan zitten waarin jouw doelgroep losgaat bij windkracht 7.<\/p>\n<h2>Zorg dat je extreem goed target<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Bedenk daarbij dat YouTube de op een na grootste zoekmachine ter wereld is. Die zoekmachine weet niet alleen welke video\u2019s jij leuk vindt, maar kan ook een aardige inschatting doen over je interesses.<\/p>\n<p>Ikzelf kijk veel tutorials over muziekproductie. Youtube had dat binnen een paar tellen door en begon mij bijbehorende advertenties te serveren. Soms zitten daar filmpjes bij van langer dan twee minuten.<\/p>\n<p>Het kwartje begon bij pas echt te vallen na het bekijken van de pre-roll van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masterclass.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Masterclass <\/a>met dance producer Deadmau5 in de hoofdrol.<\/p>\n<p>Deze is al meer 10 duizend keer geliked. Dat is 0,1% van het totale aantal views. Meer dan 1600 reacties. Ga dan zodra jouw video online staat naar het \u2018audience\u2019 gedeelte in Adwords.<\/p>\n<p>Adverteren op YouTube geeft je namelijk de mogelijkheid om nog beter je klanten te vinden. Zo kan je een nieuwe campagne cre\u00ebren op basis van hoe jouw kijkers met jouw video\u2019s is omgegaan.<\/p>\n<p>Hebben ze de pre-roll langer dan 30 seconden bekeken, geliked, gecomment of gedeeld? Dan kan je deze kijkers toevoegen aan een gloednieuwe lijst. Een lijst die dus bestaat uit mensen die jouw merk al kennen.<\/p>\n<p>Die lijst kun je vervolgens overal binnen Google gebruiken. Verhoog je biedingen voor deze doelgroep, bereik ze via banners, gmail ads, of nieuwe video\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Elke euro gespendeerd aan iemand die je merk al kent, zal het beter doen dan een euro gespendeerd aan een vreemde. Over andere vormen ga ik het in een ander blog nog hebben.<\/p>\n<p>Belangrijkste verschil is dat je een TrueView advertentie kan skippen. Dat klinkt misschien als iets slechts, het is eigenlijk heel handig.<\/p>\n<p>Als adverteerder, wordt er niets in rekening gebracht voor kijkers die wegklikken. Je betaalt alleen als een kijker 30 seconden van je video heeft gezien (tenzij je video korter is, natuurlijk) of wanneer ze een interactie met je advertentie hebben.<\/p>\n<p>Aan de slag. Deze mogelijkheden zijn er.<\/p>\n<h3>1 \u2013 InStream<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Het InStream format is vooral bekend onder de noemers pre- en mid-rolls. De ads zijn te skippen na 5 seconden en tonen voor of tijdens een video.<\/p>\n<p>Daarbij krijg je van YouTube een gratis banner bij de video\u2019s, die er gelijk naast staat. En klikt iemand op die banner, dan betaal jij daar dus niets voor.<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"1\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/HPWTz6W.jpg\" alt=\"TrueView In-Stream Ad Content\" width=\"850\" height=\"367\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Zelfs al design je geen banner, dan maakt YouTube een samenvatting van je kanaal waar de clicks gratis zijn. Maar zorg je voor een goed design voor die banner, dan heb je een grote kans dat je advertenties n\u00f3g beter gaan draaien.<\/p>\n<p>Hoe zit het met die prerolls die je niet kan overslaan? Leent je product zich voor Google Merchant? Dan gaan TrueView ads al helemaal leuk worden.<\/p>\n<p>De producten die je in je video toont, worden dan als klikbare elementen getoont naast, binnen of onder de video. Verschillende adverteerders praten over 60% minder kosten tegenover 40% hogere conversie. Deze adverteerders zetten voorheen al de InStream variant in met exact dezelfde video.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/hoSJVYi.jpg\" alt=\"European Animation Festivals\" width=\"850\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>3 \u2013 Video Discovery Ads<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\">Het derde TrueView format is de Video Discovery. De naam geeft het al aardig weg.<\/p>\n<p>Video Discovery ads worden getoont tussen de zoekresultaten, aanbevolen video&#8217;s en op de YouTube homepage.<\/p>\n<p>De ads zijn gewoon klikbare thumbnails, zoals alle normale video\u2019s. En de adverteerder? Al denk ik dat er vooral kansen liggen voor bedrijven die het moeten hebben van een niche.<\/p>\n<p>Zelf hebben wij hebben meerdere campagnes lopen, waarbij het ons vooral opvalt dat de cost per click gemiddeld lager zijn dan die van de meer voor hand liggende paid marketing kanalen.<\/p>\n<p>En dat je advertenties ook weggeklikt kunnen worden, zie ik meer als een zege dan een last. Sommige marketeers zweren zelfs bij formats die slim inspelen op de skip functie.<\/p>\n<p>Als het je lukt om zowel je verhaal te vertellen, als vervolgens de kijker op skip te laten drukken, hebben ze je weer gezien zonder dat je er iets voor betaald hebt.
