SCHOTS ENGELS ALS TAAL<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Schots Engels is de lokale variant van het Engels. Het is de offici\u00eble handelstaal van Schotland. Het Schots Engels is ontstaan in de 17e eeuw, door contact tussen de Britten en de Schotten. Omdat de talen veel afwijken, was het echter voor de Schotten lastig om Engels te leren. De veel gemaakte fouten zijn uiteindelijk onderdeel geworden van de Schotse versie van Engels.

De afwijkingen tussen standaard Engels en Schots Engels zijn niet alleen te horen in het accent, maar ook terug te lezen in geschrift. De Schotse variant heeft een aantal eigen uitspraken, zinsopbouw en grammatica.
