About the Swiss French language

About 25% of the Swiss population speaks Swiss French, which adds up to about 2 million people. The latter of the Swiss population speaks Swiss-German, German, Italian but most of the times multiple languages.

The variations between ‘standard’ French and Swiss French are mainly in the accent and individual words. In addition, the Swiss use a different method of counting as opposed to the French. The Swiss French for example, use the word “septante” for seventy instead of “soixante-dix” which literally means sixty-ten. Swiss French is mainly spoken in the Romandy region, with Geneva as largest city.

Our Swiss French voices can be booked for many different types of productions including movie trailers, corporate video, e-learnings, radio commercials, TV-commercials and voice response messages.

In Russia a Swiss French speaking voiceover is called a “Швейцарский французский голос за кадром”, in Portugal people talk about a “Entrevista de francês suíço” and in Poland it’s referred to as a “Szwajcarski francuski głos”.
